Chinese Culture University Alumni Powered Taiwan to Victory: Historic Gold in WBSC Premier12

The Chinese Taipei team won the championship game of the WBSC Premier12 Baseball Tournament by defeating Japan 4-0, securing Taiwan's first gold medal in this event and ending Japan's 27-game winning streak in international competitions. This victory highlights Taiwan's world-class baseball prowess and underscores Chinese Culture University's (CCU) exceptional achievement in cultivating top baseball talent, with many CCU alumni playing pivotal roles in this victory.

Since its founding in 1963, CCU's baseball team has been a cornerstone of Taiwan's baseball scene, producing numerous professional players and elite grassroots coaches. Many alumni continue to excel in professional leagues and national teams. Head Coach Lee Shih-Yang noted that five of the players selected for the Premier12 team were his former players during his tenure as an assistant coach. Witnessing their growth and transformation from their university days to this achievement has been deeply gratifying.

Competing for a starting position at CCU's talent-rich baseball team was no easy feat, and these players demonstrated strong self-motivation and discipline. Despite limited training facilities without a dedicated field, the players relied on CCU's unique mountain running and weight training programs, which not only enhanced their physical strength but also fortified their mental resilience.
